As some of you may know I have been down in London this week with my Mum.
We stayed at the brand new qbic hotel, this hotel is only in its 4th week of being open and there are now only two of these marvellous hotels in the whole world (the first in Amsterdam and the second in London)
Welcome to the qbic hotel as you enter the hotel the welcome mat says 'oh no not you again'
interesting installation inside the foyer
interesting installation inside the foyer
The multi coloured crates on the ceiling have been made into an interesting light feature that creates a really nice pattern across the room.
The check in and check out system
You can check in using this system but you can't yet check out using it (you have to talk to a real life person!)
A display case in the foyer containing glass bowls with gold fish in and some old ice skates.
The foyer
The long corridor to our room
I really liked the stamp rugs that where dotted around the corridors.
Our room
The inside of the door has a long mirror on it, some helpful pieces of advise and of course the qbic logo. You can also see here that you have to put your door card into a slot in the wall to be able to turn on the lights.
An overview of our room
So this interesting piece of furniture is your only storage in your room it's a 'wardrobe' I really liked it but I don't think my mum was so keen. If you are going to stay in this hotel with people who are just your friends you need to be extremely close friends as your clothing will be on show at all times.
Also the built in shower room that's joined to the bed has a sliding dark wood door but when it is slid shut it has windows at either side so a friend could catch a glimpse of something unplesent.
The three random girls above the bed freaked me out a little bit when I first walked into the room. If I had designed this room I'd have picked a nicer photograph to go above the bed. The bed is a massive queen size and it is super comfy. It was the best nights sleep I've had in ages (better than my own bed!)
The shower room is part of the bed and is a lovely quality.
A meaningful quotation in the shower room.
There is a hd smart tv attached each bed which I thought was a great idea as you can link you phone to the tv via Bluetooth and watch videos or movie from your phone on the tv!
The mood light in each room is amazing and of a fantastic design it made from a simple garden hose!
The lounge and breakfast area.
The breakfast buffet is basic and they charge you an extra £7 to have it. I just had the free 'grab and go' breakfast that is in with the price of your room, you get a high quality drink, a flapjack and a huge apple hung on your door in a paper bag from 5am each morning.
I had a great time at the qbic hotel in London and would love to go there again!
